Find Your Own Road
Find your own road,
and you will be glad to travel it despite its rocks and thorns, twists and perils,
for it is your road.
And you will be surprised to encounter upon its way the footprints of others--
parallel, opposing, crossing and returning,
and one set that will especially amaze you as your own--
for you believed that you were the discoverer, the first to travel that road.
And though the way will not end, you will reach a place of special meaning to you,
for that place belongs to you alone;
your footprints alone will mark it.
But you will not be alone in that place,
or estranged,
for you will sense that it is your road’s beginning as well as its end.
